Kate Assaraf is the founder of Dip, a plastic-free haircare brand built on science, sustainability, and a fierce commitment to independent retailers. With 20 years of beauty industry experience, Kate launched Dip after years of frustration with existing eco-friendly products that didn’t perform. She tested her conditioner bar with over 400 people across all hair types before going to market and sold $30,000 in her first week from her personal network alone.
When her contract manufacturer went bankrupt and took her deposit, Kate made the bold decision to build her own factory in North Carolina, hiring displaced workers and maintaining full control over her formulas. Today, Dip works with 4,000-5,000 independent retailers, from zero waste stores to salons and surf shops, and has redirected approximately $5M back to small businesses.
Kate was named NJ Family 2024 Mompreneur of the Year and continues to reject Amazon, influencers, and paid ads in favor of a wholesale model that protects retailer margins and scales the movement, not just the customer list.
