Sara Ferrer: [00:00:00] Hello, everyone. Welcome to Fearless and Flawed. My name is Sarah Ferrer from saraferrerco.com.
Serena Reynolds: And I am Serena Reynolds from ConceptiveCo.uk. I’m based in London in the UK. And today, our guest is Michele Julian. She is a transformational coach and founder of Julian Goddess Coaching, a space where women are guided to reconnect with their inner power, heal past wounds and step boldly into their authentic divine selves.
Serena Reynolds: Through her soulful approach, Michele helps her clients embrace their unique journeys and align with their highest potential. So, Miss Julian. Mm, yes. What led you to create Julian Goddess Coaching? What led you, what started this journey for [00:01:00] you?
Michele Julian: Well, as a practice, you know, I was falling apart myself. And over time, you know, you realize maybe you need to kind of change things up.
Michele Julian: So I had this vision of really kind of doing different things with my clients. So, um, when I was talking to my, you know, family members about it and. You know, one of my family members is my dad. So my dad is the entrepreneur in the family and God bless his soul. He’s no longer with us. He said, you have a method to your madness, Michele.
Michele Julian: You really, really need to create. A brand, right? And that was back in the day before anybody was thinking about branding and Instagramming and Facebooking. I didn’t even have a website. [00:02:00] So, that’s how it was birthed by literally falling apart myself with my own mind and body. And I knew that there was tools and medicines that I learned over the years.
Michele Julian: So I created the Julian Method and then that evolved into the Julian Goddess Coaching.
Sara Ferrer: Is there any moments and you, you’ve mentioned that this method evolved? Can you speak through some of the challenges, your own personal challenges that led up to this method and that, that, that created the essence of what now you offer to others?
Michele Julian: Yes, absolutely. So everything is like kind of a practice when you’re figuring these things out, like you are told, like, okay, you need to meditate, you need to drink water.
Michele Julian: And that is true, right? [00:03:00] That’s absolutely true. If you want to take care of this amazing vessel. And I felt like a lot of my clients and people that I talked to were always like an overwhelmed or always feeling like they weren’t doing enough. So they were in this kind of like shame mode of actualizing and taking care of their bodies.
Michele Julian: And so the evolution journey was just me practicing with my clients and helping them figure out like a 7 minute to 10 minute. Self energy healing that actually could start them out like in the beginning of the day. And then that way they would start feeling positive, right? Actually creating the habit or just some energetic reset when they first [00:04:00] wake up.
Michele Julian: So then they don’t feel like they’re always trying to catch up. I’ve got to go do my yoga. I’ve got to do my Pilates. Right? So we’ve got this burden that, you know, self care has kind of gotten like this, it’s like a burden instead of an, an actual thing to look forward to and feel like I have this, I’ve got this.
Michele Julian: Right?
Sara Ferrer: Right. And when, like before the clients come into the scene, cause I’m loving what you’re saying, I’m loving the acknowledgement that like self care can be a burden when it feels like a thing to do in order to achieve instead of the process. Of, of exploration of, of literally self care, but before the clients even enter the scene, I’m wondering how you personally, your trials and tribulations of developing this method, were there influential people along the way or experiences that made you say, I’m a human being just like everyone [00:05:00] else.
Sara Ferrer: I’ve been reading X, Y, and Z. That’s not serving me. How did the, the method come, come about through your own trial and error and challenges?
Michele Julian: Well, the first, the first, I guess, major challenge was when I had a motorcycle accident with a guy I was dating at the time. And that was during the time that I was in corporate sales.
Michele Julian: And, you know, I, you know, I was really enjoying that job in ways financially, right. It was filling my cup, as you would say, financially. And at the same time, I knew something was missing overall with my like purpose living, right? So living on purpose has kind of always been in the background, like in my mind, like the background, right?
Michele Julian: Like we all have noises in the background, like. You should be a [00:06:00] doctor, you know, you should be an ex. So for me, it was about getting a wake up call, right? So that wake up call of the motorcycle accident was like, wait a minute, you know, life is really short, you know, you almost just like died. So are you really living on purpose?
Michele Julian: Question mark. So that was the beginning of that awakening and then taking steps to actualize. And those steps led me to going back to school and learning OT, PT, massage, and then it was birthed. Through practicing, right? And being in that new role as a healer. And then as that evolved, I came into the becoming state of achievement [00:07:00] of, Oh, okay, now I am an XYZ person, right?
Michele Julian: So it’s always kind of like developing that mindset of curiosity and wisdom and kind of Mix it in like you’re like, almost like, think of yourself as a spiritual, like, witch, right? So you’re taking all these medicines, I call them, because food is medicine, right? And, Meditation is medicine and, you know, going on your bike is medicine, right?
Michele Julian: All of these things and then taking them and putting them in this beautiful cauldron and mixing them up. As you mix it, you create a portal and then, pshhh, bang. You got it. So that’s the light energy now that we’re in light energy, right? And as I radiate out the light to you, you’re radiating back to me.[00:08:00]
Sara Ferrer: Very insightful. So this sounds like, this sounds like what you’re doing is you’re, you’re almost, at least for me, let me, let me, let me not project this onto you, but it’s almost challenging. It’s challenging what I think, what I think certain, um, my expectations. of how things should look versus the reality.
Sara Ferrer: And so what, through your experiences, you’re really offering the ability with your clients to explore deeper about what does medicine look like? What does self care look like? What does transformation look like? And so is that making sense so far?
Michele Julian: Yeah. Yeah. It’s, you know, the thing is, because we’re humans.
Michele Julian: You’re looking to have a concrete answer, and that concreteness is really helpful for you, [00:09:00] so you can be on board with doing, right? I’m not gonna do this. Unless I get something from it, right? Because that’s how we’re wired. Like, I need to sign up with Michele, because I want to make, let’s just say, a better body in 30 days.
Michele Julian: No, I don’t work that way. There’s no such thing as 30 days. So basically this is a practice, an everyday practice, a lifelong practice. And so if someone wants to work with me, I would literally ask them questions. about what they’ve been doing for the past X, Y, X, Y years, right? Let’s say you were interested in working with me and be like, okay, Michele, I’ve done this, this, this and this, but this and this and this isn’t happening.
Michele Julian: And so I’d be like, okay, well, why do you think it’s not happening? So it’s really about [00:10:00] me working with you with your own wisdom of creating. A self energy practice that you can sustain in your everyday life that’s real, attainable, right? And that is a accumulation, like accumulation of many, many things for yourself.
Michele Julian: Like things that work for me might not work for you. Right? So you have to kind of like, again, take all those little tools and create the cauldron and then I create your special sauce for you, Sarah, right?
Sara Ferrer: And what is, okay, I’m loving, like, you, you’ve got my full attention. Serena and I are just staring at you like, yes, I can read the room.
Sara Ferrer: It’s dynamic. It’s energetic. What happens? So the client comes to you and says, just like, just like what you said, most people are, or the, the, the, the pitfall we all experience, people go, [00:11:00] okay, that all sounds great, but I want that body in 30 days. Okay. That all sounds great. But like, I needed this. What role do you have in, do you try to fight that?
Sara Ferrer: Do you simply pass on that client or what message do you have of maybe funneling some preconceived notions or expectations? Yeah. into the Michele Gillian method. What does that look like, that potential friction? How do you deal with that?
Michele Julian: Everyone has an idea of what they want for their body, right?
Michele Julian: Let’s just work with the body, not the mind. Because every, like, we’re, you know, human beings, we want to look a certain way. And especially women, you know, we’re, oh my God, look at that wrinkle, you know, so we don’t, we don’t need to do that. We can actually start being kinder to ourselves. So it’s all really about starting with your mindset, like in how you think, how you process [00:12:00] your emotions.
Michele Julian: So that’s really where I start really with people that have this kind of lockdown idea. Of like, this is what I want in 30 days, and this is why I want this in 30 days. So it unfolds as we keep talking, and then what happens is they realize, and they’re like, Wow, I actually don’t really want to lose 20 pounds.
Michele Julian: I actually want to just feel good in my body because I actually think I look pretty good. Right? Then that unfolds and happens naturally, right? They’re like, I want. Transcript is not the reality. So that’s kind of the process when I work with you. And it’s super, as you say, transformational and deep, but I don’t use those words at all because that is going to make you run away because you’re not really interested in deep and transformation, you’re interested in the fix.[00:13:00]
Michele Julian: You want that fix. I know you do. Everybody does. I do, too. Okay? But we can’t fix things. We can only allow things and nurture things to unfold. That makes any sense to you?
Sara Ferrer: It does. Makes a lot of sense. Yes, it’s one of those things that if, when you were mentioning that the visualization for me is, I literally thought as you were talking about the fix, it’s almost like there’s a stream and there’s a dam.
Sara Ferrer: Okay. There’s a dam that’s been built and all of us, you know, want the water to flow better in this case. And so, so people might come to go, I want the waterfall there and you go, okay, well, there’s a dam there. And that dam is, you know, what are, what are those things that are blocking? Okay. And that’s, and maybe I’m off on this.
Sara Ferrer: So, so correct me if you’re like, Sarah, you are so freaking off on this. What you do is you don’t go in [00:14:00] and say, okay, we’re just going to figure out how to get that water to flow better. You go, I can’t fix that and fix quote unquote, that immediate problem. Instead, I’m here to guide, to understand, to, um, to potentially unblock so that, so that what can come out of it.
Sara Ferrer: Is a deeper realization, perhaps, or an insight that, you know, when I hear even as I’m as even as I’m explaining that I I’m curious if even as I’m grappling with explaining it because it makes sense to me, but there’s a talking through process. That very easily can become like, I don’t know the hell I’m saying, but maybe this isn’t making sense.
Sara Ferrer: Right.
Serena Reynolds: Do you, do you, do you find that bottle bottlenecks of life as business women, what’s the bottleneck in your business? This is what’s the bottleneck in your life, in your life journey is that
Michele Julian: I do. I see what you see, Sarah, and I do see what you see Serena, right? [00:15:00] So this is what we call permanence.
Michele Julian: It’s like, Oh, this is permanent. Like if I do this. Right? And then I get this, and then that happens, I’m gonna be like a 10, 000 a month millionaire. Right? You have this permanence thing, right? You really want to attach to it. The thing is Everything is non permanent. Uh oh, now what? Oh my god, so I’m going to really work really hard to have all this attainment and this permanence in my life, and then poof, it’s gone.
Michele Julian: Now, okay, that’s deep, that’s the deep, this is in between the deep work, right, the fluffy work up here that you’re talking about, like, Unblock, unblock. Okay, we got the unblock. That’s done. Now what? Now what? Now that you’re unblocked, are you going to change? Or are you going to create another block? [00:16:00] And another block?
Michele Julian: And another block?
Michele Julian: We don’t know.
Serena Reynolds: It’s like when you say, I wanna lose weight. Five pounds, and then you gain back six.
Michele Julian: Exactly! So,
Michele Julian: so, so,
Michele Julian: let’s, let’s like, let’s play with that. So, let’s say you do that, like, you lose the five pounds, then you gain back six, and you call me up and you go, What the fuck, Michele?
Michele Julian: I just gained six pounds. Are you going to blame that on me? Because I didn’t guide you appropriately? I would probably say no.
Serena Reynolds: You didn’t stop me eating that donut. It’s your fault.
Michele Julian: Exactly. So, so that is again where the deep work happens, right? So I think this is what I’m understanding now as I’m talking to you both.
Michele Julian: And this is really helpful because a lot of people want to work with me and they see how when they do work with me, it’s [00:17:00] amazing. They don’t really even know what’s going on, which is fine. They don’t really need to know. The basic thing is they get what they need, right? What they want and what they need in their life.
Michele Julian: Lifestyle, whatever that is. So it’s kind of in between losing that six pounds and I mean, losing five pounds and then gaining six back. That is, as you were talking about the unblock. So it’s really not the unblock, it’s unlocking. So, you’re unlocking the door. So, think of it as this, you’re standing at the door, you’ve lost the five pounds, then now you open the door, you get on the scale, and you gain six pounds.
Michele Julian: And you’re like, how did that happen? Are you going to stay curious and say, how did that happen? Or are you going to shame yourself? Are you going to blame yourself? Are you going to be mean to yourself? Are you going to [00:18:00] say, fuck it, I’m not going to even go on a diet ever again. I’m going to eat donuts every day.
Michele Julian: Okay. Yes. Okay. So, yes, Ian. Yes, Ian. You’re going to have those emotions. Right? And then what I do as your guide, as your facilitator, is create that sacred space so you can really feel all of that and then some. So then you can nourish yourself and your wisdom comes into you, right? Your wisdom. No, that’s just me being frustrated, right?
Michele Julian: You start to talk to yourself because we have no bad parts, which I’ve talked to you about, Sarah. It’s also that work that I bring into my work, which is helping people kind of define all of their parts, so then that way they’re not shaming themselves. They’re actually having a nice [00:19:00] conversation with all of their parts.
Michele Julian: They’re understanding those parts. That they feel like that are not helpful, that actually are helpful. So you kind of, you know, doing this with your hand and you’re leaning in and you’re curious about this part. And when I talk about parts, I’m talking about, we have many parts, right? And those parts are always here.
Michele Julian: They’re always with us together. Some show up. Right? That, you know, are a little bit fiery. We call those the firefighters. Like, don’t fuck with me, bitch. Right? And that’s okay. You want that firefighter to be around because she’s here to protect you. Right? You’ve got to say. You gotta say this, okay? I’m just gonna give you a little, I’m gonna call her Judy.
Michele Julian: Judy, I know, I know, I know, I know what you’re feeling. Totally get it. I can feel it. I know [00:20:00] this is really hard. Listen, this person has something to say. I think we should listen to this. Right? So you’re calming that nervous system down with that part. You’re acknowledging that they feel the way they feel, and they can feel that way, right?
Michele Julian: It’s not like you’re doing anything bad. It’s about saying yes, and let’s be curious. Let’s think about how we can integrate this energy that you want in a way that’s helpful. Not harming you or others. So you really kind of take that time. To know oneself, right? It’s really that embodiment of complete self energy.
Michele Julian: So that’s why it’s really actually, now that I think about it standing here, it’s difficult to explain what I do. Well,
Sara Ferrer: I want to mention something because I think you actually, so I know, I’ve known Michele for, for several years and I want to say that you had mentioned this [00:21:00] concept of no bad parts and if you could just explain that a little bit more about the book and how you.
Sara Ferrer: Because I think that this is something you enlightened me with and I, I, I have been reading about it. So kind of dive deeper into where you, where that, where that, um, understanding of that came in, the theory of it.
Michele Julian: Definitely. So it was actually kind of interesting. When I first got married to my husband, we had a friend that was a therapist.
Michele Julian: And she actually had the book, No Bad Parts, and, you know, it wasn’t, I don’t even think it was No Bad Parts. It was another book that sounded like the same thing, written by the doctor that wrote No Bad Parts. So basically it was about relationships and communication. And she gave it to us like as a wedding present and my, both my husband, you know, we, you know, perused the book really quick.
Michele Julian: And then we just said, you know, are you going to read this? [00:22:00] And he’s like, I don’t think so. And I was like, I’m going to read it. Cause you know, I like to learn and that’s just my personality. So I started reading it. And, um, I saw how it was going to be helpful. So I started practicing it in my communications with all of my family, not just my husband, but with all of my family.
Michele Julian: And I saw it was an easy, like, conversation to have. In difficult conversations, right? It was all about how to have a difficult conversation. Because, you know, a lot of people, I’m sure you feel this way, get really nervous about confrontation. Right. And so it, it’s real. I mean, we need to sometimes stand up for ourselves and have confrontation.
Michele Julian: So that’s why for me, I’ve always been kind of like a people pleaser. So when you’re a people pleaser and you [00:23:00] talk a certain way because you want to please people, sometimes you’re not taking care of yourself and you’re not being honest with that person in that difficult conversation. So I found Like a tool that could help me be honest, but not feel like I wasn’t pleasing to at the same time, because there’s always a component in our dialogue with each other.
Michele Julian: We don’t really want to be, you know, harmful. So, it was like a natural thing that did get developed. And then over the years, you know, that was integrated in my work, in my personal life. And then, um, the new bad parts came during the pandemic. So, the pandemic, was having all these emotional upheavals and people are getting triggered and traumatized and all of this.
Michele Julian: And so, you know, everybody was in therapy. I don’t know if you know that, but everybody was in therapy, online on Zoom. I have a lot of [00:24:00] psychologists as, you know, friends and, you know, they’re in my world. And they’d be like, I am so booked, like my head’s ready to spin. And then it’s like, oh my God, I like, I don’t know how to take care of everybody.
Michele Julian: So this book, No Bad Parts is supposed to support the therapist and the person that wants to actually have self awareness of self energy. So they’re not. Creating their own suffering all the time because we, as human beings, create suffering. Do we not? So you buy into that you create your own suffering and you don’t know necessarily how to get out of it because you’re human.
Michele Julian: And that’s where the part system comes in to help you first. You gotta read the book, do exactly what the guy tells you to do in the book, which is define your parts. And it’s super fun. It’s not, it’s not scary. It’s not hard. It’s actually super fun to do. And I’m actually [00:25:00] thinking about doing a book club all around the No Bad Parts book.
Michele Julian: So I can kind of show people that it’s super fun, easy, and it’s also very transformational and life changing, right? So in a positive way, you know, like you’re not going to bleed out, you know, you’re not going in for surgery. So, you know, know that it’s fun and it’s deep work. So I hope that explains the whole, like, where we’re going here in the self energy of Julian Goddess and all of that.
Serena Reynolds: So you talk about, you talk about no bad parts, but how much of your own intuition has gone into the Julian Method? How much of it is you? What other things do you bring to the table? I mean, you’ve talked so much about the, the different foods and lifestyles and healing and big bucket. This isn’t something I’ve heard an awful lot about [00:26:00] from coaching.
Serena Reynolds: So how much of this is, is you?
Michele Julian: I mean, who am I? I’m just human. I’m a human being on a spiritual journey of figuring it out, right? I am not a guru. I don’t know all the answers. And I’m not going to say that I do, and someday I’ll be doing TED Talks, and I’ll be traveling all over the world, and my ego might get in the way, but my husband will sit me down and say, hey, who the hell do you think you are?
Michele Julian: Who are you? Are you contributing? Are you contributing suffering? Are you contributing joy, peace, harmony? All of that, right? We get to choose that every day. And the biggest thing I feel like what I want to change, really? Online paradigm coaching. And you can have a lot of people in a group, and you can have people all over the place, and you can have people on a whole lot of pages, and you can have a [00:27:00] lot of people in So, what you want to do is you want to see, how do I do this?
Michele Julian: What do I need to do? And you can check your download links, and you can add text to it, and you can see what You know everything you need to know and you need somebody like you and you to help them cultivate it, to get that message and that branding so it’s a no brainer yes. It’s like, I want more of that.
Serena Reynolds: So you would see yourself as a guide to transformation, somebody to hold somebody’s hand to lead them through it.
Michele Julian: Yeah, I would say the word guide is, is, is so interesting and it’s, and I totally get why you need to ask these questions because you’re trying to help the audience like want to work with me and I totally get it and I totally appreciate that and I’m [00:28:00] saying yes, I’m a guide, I’m a facilitator, I’m a, I am like a, I’m a gypsy.
Michele Julian: Right? I’m all of those things. I’m also a drill sergeant, you know, and I’m also like a traveler. Let’s go traveling. Sarah, where do you want to travel? And where do you want to dance? Right? I’m all of those things. And that’s, I guess, that, that is the essence of me. If you want to say, who are you? Like, what is your intuition?
Michele Julian: My intuition is always from my heart. Always from my gut, you know, try not to come up here because that’s the ego, bring it down into the heart, into the gut, and feel, and share, and be nice, not thought shamey, not competitive, all of those things.
Serena Reynolds: Your primary goal, or, I don’t, I [00:29:00] don’t know, I don’t know how to put this, but your, your focus is, is about putting good into the world, not creating bad.
Serena Reynolds: I think, not, not that people want to create bad. I think most of us don’t want to create bad. I just think most of us don’t intentionally know how to create good. And I think that’s where your intention is.
Michele Julian: Right, it’s about creating harmony, peace, joy, light, love, but not spiritually bypassing to get your uniform dirty so you can actually do that.
Michele Julian: That’s where the deep transformation work comes in working with me, because now, You have these tools, you have this medicine that is unbreakable, unshakable, and you can always call on it. Does that mean you’re perfect? Nope, not at all. Actually, you’re extremely flawed and you own it. In [00:30:00] an unapologetic way, right?
Michele Julian: Look at my butt, it’s sticking out, and I love it, right? So that is where I want you, as a woman, to be activated. And this is why I use words, activated. You know, ascension. All of these words are used because that’s what’s happening in real time. When you’re working with me together,
Sara Ferrer: I have to ask you, I have to ask you this because I’m sure I’m, you know, I’m not even sure I know the answer.
Sara Ferrer: I was going to say, I’m sure some listeners are wondering, but like you bring this, this free spirit energy ever since I’ve met you a couple of years ago, it is a, and I, the best way I can, I would describe it to someone is like, I am who I am energy and fuck it. Life is short. Let’s, let’s do the damn thing.
Sara Ferrer: That’s the energy I have always derived from you. [00:31:00] Has that, has that been you since birth? Has that been you like, because I have to imagine that’s the energy you bring to your coaching. And I, and again, it’s not even about you are, were you born this way? Yes, I guess that’s what I’m trying to ask because it’s so unique.
Michele Julian: Really good question. It’s a really good question, and my mother would tell you, because she, she would answer that question if she was right here. Mom, was I born this way? And she’d say, yes and no. And the reason why she’d say no is because I actually had a lot of anxiety. As a kid, right? I had so much anxiety that I always thought that I was going to get some grave disease and die.
Michele Julian: So I had enormous amount of anxiety and my mom knew this about me. So what she would do is she would Basically send me on an errand on my bike and she say, I want milk, [00:32:00] juice, and you know, some more bread. And I was like, but mom, I just got the milk, didn’t I? She’s like, yeah, we, we ran out of it. You got to go get more.
Michele Julian: I’m like, okay. So she tricked me in a way. And that’s why my, the, the title of my book is going to be The Big Trick. She tricked me, this kind of exercise, adventure, right? On my bike to get out of my anxiety mind body.
Serena Reynolds: Are you sure she just wasn’t trying to get you out the house? I’ve done that with my kids.
Michele Julian: No, no. Well, you know, maybe it could have been a combination of both, but my mother was very particular. About me as in my entity of anxiety. She was very aware. Cause my mother was an empath as well, high, high empath, [00:33:00] and she could feel things and see things and know things. I could not lie to her ever. And you know, all my siblings would be like, yes, you can do a lot.
Michele Julian: I’m like, Nope, I can’t. Like, I could never lie. Like, I’m just not a liar. I just tell the truth. Plain and simple. I don’t care if I’m gonna get in trouble. I’m just telling the truth. This, like, I guess that was what I was born with. Telling the truth. Integrity. Integrity, right? Being honest to myself. And to other people, like if I stole a hat for my sister, which I did, I stole a hat.
Michele Julian: I stole her favorite hat and I put it on the bike with me and it got all dirty and gross. So, you know what I mean? Like, that is, I guess, what I’m born with is integrity, right? Other part was nurtured by my mom. You know, and she, you know, did her thing back in the day and, you know, cause I was, you know, born in the fifties.
Michele Julian: So basically, you know, they had to figure it out themselves. They had nobody really [00:34:00] helping them take care of their kids, mentee or anything. You know, my mother’s just kind of figured it out. She was a very avid reader and she educated herself. You know, both my mother and father don’t have, you know, any degrees.
Michele Julian: Per se, but they figured things out and really were very successful and brought up four kids. So, you know, you just, everybody has this thing in their head. Like they have to be X, Y, Z right. In order to X, Y, Z happen, actually, no, you get to really cultivate and create your own reality.
Sara Ferrer: It sounds like you picked up or you’ve, you’ve gained the curiosity because you’re a curious person.
Sara Ferrer: You talk about your mother truly being curious about how to reading, you know, formal photo book degree, but like, but, but an understanding of resources and systems to, to ensure that. So I find that so. So [00:35:00] interesting because again, maybe you, you know, when you say, Oh, some of it, I was born with some of it, some of it, I wasn’t, but one thing you lean into in your business for your clients and for yourself is curiosity and grace.
Sara Ferrer: And it sounds like those two things are things that were imparted on you at an early age. And so I, I’m, I’m curious with what’s the next steps then knowing what you know now going through this journey, understanding what was gifted to you from birth, what has been learned from those around you. What, you mentioned a book in the works.
Sara Ferrer: What’s the next phase look like for Michele Julian Method?
Michele Julian: Yes. So if we’re tooting my horn, I am going to bring out some tootings of horns. So I’m going to bring some things out. So basically I am going to show you during the pandemic. I created the being and the becoming state in a card deck. Did I know that it [00:36:00] was going to be called being and becoming?
Michele Julian: No, I did not know. I just had a vision and a wisdom to know that I needed to take care of myself. So, blah, blah, this is the deck. I don’t know if I showed this to you, Sarah.
Sara Ferrer: Tell us, tell us though, like, like, like talk through it. So those listening are going to go, what’s she showing?
Michele Julian: Okay. This is the deck.
Michele Julian: This is the being becoming a goddess deck, and it has a feminine energy and a masculine energy. And how do I, why did I do that? So the reason I do that is because we all have feminine and masculine energy. And so how do we quickly activate ourselves? First thing in the morning, you get out of bed, you go to the bathroom, you drink some water, you do your thing, maybe have coffee, maybe have tea, maybe sit, maybe go for a walk.
Michele Julian: I don’t know, I have to do all that. What I want you to do is sit down, be [00:37:00] quiet. Right? Pick card. Pick a card. We’ll do that right now. Right? Boom. Okay. When you are with spirit, you are inspired. Wayne Dwyer.
Sara Ferrer: So these cards have little sayings on them. I have a little inspirational sayings, quotes.
Michele Julian: It’s just, these sayings are affirmations, intuitive, like, aha moments, right?
Michele Julian: So that sets you up for the day, it’s like, oh, hmm, I guess I am very, very goddess like. Hmm, how do I, how do I feel into that, right? It helps you reset yourself. For the day in a way that’s productive, right, that is kind and is compassionate. So that was the first [00:38:00] thing that I birthed. Then I also birthed a journal, an activation journal, which then takes that tool and of awareness, and then you get to, like, have journal prompts where you actualize, write, they call it free writing, right, and do that.
Michele Julian: And then that came, that was the second, you know, products line for the being, the becoming. And then the third one was the planner, which now I physically have, this is 2025, so I started out. With 2023 planner, 2024 planner, and now this is the third version, 2025, and that is being launched as we speak. It’s in the press being all designed and percolated, right, for 2025.
Michele Julian: So I don’t even remember what you asked me. [00:39:00]
Sara Ferrer: Yeah. And listen, it’s, you’ve told me all the things, you know, what you’ve done, what you’re doing. You know, Michele, if, if, if I can sum you up in one concrete sentence, it’s, we all don’t know where, where, where we may be going in life, but as long as you’re long, as long as we have someone along for the ride, that’s okay with baths, you know, that’s what I get from it.
Sara Ferrer: It’s like at the end of the day, does it really matter as long as essentially you’re enjoying the journey, the ride, all that good stuff. So that’s my takeaway kind of overall is what your offering is. Let’s not focus on what should be. Let’s not focus on that exact concrete thing. Let’s focus on the journey.
Michele Julian: Yes, exactly. And the thing is, is like, that’s kind of the reason why I created these, I guess you call them like tools that are like, you can touch it, feel it, see it. So the energy of [00:40:00] my coaching style. Put in the coach word, it’s just so much easier for me to, to kind of wrap it around in their logical brain.
Michele Julian: The coach part of me is in here and in my journaling because that’s what I did when I was younger. Like you were talking about, like full circle, younger. I did my diary. And so that made sense that it would now be journaling, and it’s super cool. We journal now. Everybody journals. Everybody talks about it, right?
Michele Julian: But I did it before it was cool. And then, basically, I have a planner now. Because guess what? I’m an adult, and I need to plan shit. Get stuff done. And, I actually use the moon cycles. So that’s why my planner has the moon cycles in it. Right? So now, now, you ask me why I want to work with you. I can say, oh, I can help you activate yourself with a card.
Michele Julian: You know what I mean? Like, if I simplify why you want to work with me, I [00:41:00] can do it that way. And, maybe that’s the way I should probably be doing it. I don’t know. But I just stay curious, like you say. Figure it out as I go, right? And then maybe, maybe I’ll get on Oprah. I don’t know.
Sara Ferrer: Well, we, we, we’ve got a little bit of a surprise question for you now.
Sara Ferrer: Take it away, Serena.
Serena Reynolds: We do, Michele. So we always ask our guests at the end of the podcast. a question to ask the next guest. So I’m going to start this off with asking you the question from our last guest. And I have to tell you, it’s the most perfect question for you. It’s as though it was written specifically for you in mind.
Serena Reynolds: If you have no idea who you are or anything, just so happens to be what it is. And then after that, we will ask you a question for you to ask our next guest. So we kind of. Push this through. So, your question is, where do you find [00:42:00] room to be? Instead of to do, where do I find room to be and just be instead of doing?
Serena Reynolds: Yeah. So, so she, she explained it as two states. You have the B, which is more about you and then the doing, which is more about the, the tools and the things that you have to do. I think this question was absolutely written for you.
Michele Julian: Absolutely. Because I’m a being and doing person. I, I think, yeah, I think you are just be.
Michele Julian: So for me, like being is in flow. It’s, you know, in that curiosity, curiosity, curiosity mind, right? It’s in that childlike mind of, Um, actually not giving a shit about anything. Actually not understanding what’s even happening, right? That’s the being state, which I love being in. And the [00:43:00] becoming, right, which is really the doing.
Michele Julian: The doing is the becoming. Becoming, how do you take the flow state of curiosity and become that? It’s practice. It’s not a one and done thing. It’s practice and Discipline and repetition over and over again. That’s it. That’s the secret.
Sara Ferrer: She’s, she’s given us the sauce. And then what would you ask our next guest?
Michele Julian: Oh, I was, okay. I would love to ask your next guest.
Sara Ferrer: Yes. Think about it. It doesn’t have to be complicated. Or can be. I don’t know.
Michele Julian: What would they tell their younger self? One thing, one thing that their, their younger self would tell the older self, right? The older self tells the younger self, [00:44:00] what would that one thing that you’ve learned that you wish you actually had told that person, like the self, the younger self person?
Sara Ferrer: Yes, love that. So basically, yeah, if I’m getting this right, I mean, this is great. It’s like knowing what you know now is the older version of yourself. What would you tell that younger version? What’s that one nugget thing? Wisdom, inspiration, advice. Love that. Cause people can take it all different angles.
Sara Ferrer: They’ll never get bangs after a breakup. Um, you know, it’s everyone does, but sometimes you don’t know until you go through it. I never heard that expression, never bang, never get banged, no, because every, I feel like most, you know, everyone’s going through a chapter of their lives or a bad breakup or you get fired from a job or something goes wrong.
Sara Ferrer: You gotta change your hair. And then they always say,
Serena Reynolds: refresh your life, change your hair.
Sara Ferrer: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Exactly. So I,
Michele Julian: oh, I like that. Well, I cut all my hair off on vacation with a hairdresser that [00:45:00] had no, had no clue like what they were gonna do with my hair. She’s like, you wanna go from long to short with me?
Michele Julian: You don’t even know me. I’m like, yeah, that’s right. Talk about trust and letting go. That was the beginning of another level. of letting go.
Sara Ferrer: Love that, Michele. You are just, thank you for just, you know what, Shareena and I have done a lot of these podcasts. Many of them are, you know, if not all are very enriching and inspiring, but you fundamentally and uniquely have brought an energy that we have not experienced to date, electric energy.
Sara Ferrer: Thank you.
Michele Julian: I love you too, both, and, and, there’s always a yeah, and, I have, like, these curiosity messages from my part system saying, to set up, to do the next thing, like, yeah, I know, I know, I’m going to, right? [00:46:00]
Sara Ferrer: You are a lover of collaboration, and we love that about you, and if you’re looking to, um, to find the goodness of, of where you can get more of this dynamic energy.
Sara Ferrer: Juliangoddesscoaching. com is where they can find you. You are on Instagram, you’re on your social, correct? You’re on Facebook. They can find you where, at what handle?
Michele Julian: Yeah, so they, actually, Instagram is great. At Julian Method. Really, that’s the quickest, fastest way. Follow me, because I have been trying to, like, increase my followers, which I’m not really good at, at all.
Michele Julian: In, you know, reminding myself to even say it. Jillian method because I have, I mean, I have like a lot of followers on Facebook. I would say like, I mean the millions of followers. So I need to kind of push those people a little bit over into IG land because I feel like people are leaving Facebook and they’re going into IG and TikTok.
Sara Ferrer: But if you’re a loyal listener, follow [00:47:00] Michele. Michele, thank you so much for, uh, taking time out of your day for this. And we just can’t wait to see where, where, where your journey takes you. So keep us posted and keep our listeners posted.
Michele Julian: Absolutely. Positively. I cannot wait to talk about how amazing you both are.
Michele Julian: People are already asking me questions about certain
Michele Julian: people.
Sara Ferrer: Refer them, refer them to us. Yes, girl. Thank you. Wonderful. Thank you so much, you guys. Thank you so much, Michele. Thank you.
